Services for Janie V. Platt, 80, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jeff Cover officiating.  Burial will follow in New Addition Annex Cemetery under the direction Bailey & Foster, Palestine.  Mis Platt died Thursday at Dogwood Trails Advanced Health Care.  She was born May 13, 1918, in Palestine to Edward George and Anna Bertha Rothdeutsch Platt.

Miss Platt worked for Glass Containers Corporation.  She was a life member of Rebakah Lodge No. 23 and a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 3907 and AARP  Chapter No. 253 in Paletine.  She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Palestine.  Miss Platt was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Edward platt.

She is survived by brothers, George Platt and Otto Platt, both of Palestine.

Pallbearers will be Larry DeFore, Jason DeFore, Greg Golden, Bill Platt, Eddie Platt, Bobby Platt, Lee Hunter and Joseph Ewers.

Honarary pallbearers will be Jeff Platt, Floyd Harris, Paul Holiday, Jeremiah Goode, Pete Phillips and Ron boerm.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 – 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
