Services for John C. Parkman, 69 of Temple and formerly of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. today at Tennessee Colony Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Sitters officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory.  Mr. Parkman died Thursday in a house fire at his Temple residence.  He was born October 7, 1928, in Anderson County, and attended Sam Houston State University before graduating from the University of Georrgia with a degree in agriculture.  He served in both the U.S. Air Force and Marines.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Kinney and Lucille Scholand, and a brother, Bill Parkman.

He is survived by sons, John C. Parkman and David C. Parkman, both of Savannah, GA and Michael D. Parkman of Rock Hill, SC and brothers, Kenneth Parkman and J.L. Parkman, both of Palestine, and Charles Parkman of Paris.
