Services for Oliver B. McReynolds Jr., 74 of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Juan Trevino officiating. Burial will be in Land of Memory Cenetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mr. McReynolds died Tuesday morning at his home. He was born April 21, 1912, a son of Docia Taylor and Oliver Bartow McReynolds, Sr. He graduated from Palestine High School and attended Texas A&M College.
He was president of Exploration Products Co and was a former vice president and partner in Texas Seismograph Co. He was a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. He served as an elder in First Presbyterian Church and was past president of the Palestine Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow in that organization. He was also a director of First National Bank and chairman of the Anderson County Historical Commission. He was the first recipient of the Lois and K.A. Anderson Builder of Palestine Award.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Roueche McReynolds; a daughter, Mrs. David M. (Sue) Smith of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Ellen Elizabeth Smith of Fort Worth; brothers, Leland D. McReynolds of Neches and Perry T. McReynolds of San Angelo.
Pallbearers will be Steve Presley and nephews Charles McReynolds, Oliver Bartow McReynolds III, James Richard Roueche, Tom Graham Roueche, William H. Matthews III, Zachariah Aycock Reynolds IV, and Greg C. McReynolds.
