Services for James Russell Lincoln, Sr., 65 of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Herrington Land of Memory with Dr. Frank Royal officiating. Masonic graveside services will be at Land of Memory Cemetery. Mr. Lincoln died Wednesday in Dallas after a brief illness. He was born inTyler on August 23, 1926, to Robert and Jesse Mae Russell Lincoln. He had lived here most of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad.
He graduated from Palestine High School in 1944 and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 31 in palestine holding a lifetime certificate of achievement.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Nell Henson Lincoln of Palestine; son, James Russell “Rusty” Lincoln Jr., of Palestine; daughter, Mrs. Bill “Becky” Coooksey of Palestine; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hoyt Johnston, J.W. Stewart, Danny Glenn, George Bleick, Emmett Riggs and Frank Darling.
