Services for Thelma Hanks Huffman, 82, of Tyler, were at 2 p.m. today at Land of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Danny Dawdy officiating. Burial was under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory. Mrs. Huffman died Sunday in a Tyler nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was born March 22, 1909 in Montalba. She attended Palestine High School and Huntsville State University. She and her husband, Jack, owned and operated Huffman Cleaners in Tyler until they retired in 1976 and moved to Rockport. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tyler, Soroptimst club and League of Women Voters.
She is survey by her husband, O.R. “Jack” Huffman of Tyler; daughters, Jodie Marshall of Tyler and Sandra Scarborough of Houston; sisters, Mollie Raines of Palestine and Eloise McLeroy of Tyler; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild-child.
