Services for Louise Quick Herod, 73, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Herrington Land of Memory Chapel with Dr. Richard D. Waters officiating.  Burial will be at Land of Memory Cemetery.  Mrs. Herod died Friday afternoon at Trinity Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness.  She was born August 11, 1919, in Palestine to Walter and Charlsey Edwards Quick.

She graduated from Palestine High School and from Baylor University.  She taught in various public schools in Anderson County for eight years and also had worked as a florist for Patton’s Flower Shop for 20 years.  She taught the Dorcas Sunday School class at First Baptist Church where she was a member.

She is survived by husband, Jack F. Herod, Sr., of Palestine; son, Jack F. Herod, Jr. of Carthage; daughter, Jill Herod Harris of Palestine; sister, Merrie Brigman of Montgomery; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Grumbles, Robert Lane, Danny Glenn, Ben Liles, Mitch Flannigan and Boyd Brigman.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church of Palestine.
