Funeral services for George H. Platt 91 of Palestine, will be held 10:00 AM Monday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in Land Of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mr. Platt passed away Saturday in Palestine. He was born April, 5, 1920 in Palestine to Edward George Platt and Anna Roedeutch Platt. He was a machinist for Glass Container and served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of First Presbyterian and the Odd Fellows Lodge Ft. Houston Chapter. Mr. Platt was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janie Platt brothers Otto and Charles Platt.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Hazel Platt of Palestine, daughter Melia Hunter of Lufkin, sons Eddie Platt of Waxahachie and Bobby Platt of New Braunfels, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bill Platt, Scott Platt, Jeff Platt, Juan Saucedo, Andrew Driscoll and Sandy Starkey.
Condolence calls will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
