Funeral services for Larry “Don” Harris, 71 of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at Heerrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd White officiating.  Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery.  Don went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, April 16, 2010.  He was born in Palestine May 24, 1938.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fran Harris.  Other survivors include his parents, Virgil and Lela Harris of Palestine; sons, Kevin Harris and wife Kelly of Keller, Texas, Craig Harris and wife Jodi of Palestine; grandchildren; David, Kody, Savanah, Tanner and Payton; brother John Harris and wife Linda of Palestine; sister, Judy Foree and husband Ken of Lewisville; brother-in-law, Bob Dennis and wife Margaret; sister-in-law, Jeanne Lewis and husband Bill; and a host of close friends, nieces and nephews.

Don was a longtime Anderson County historian and for many years a Palestine civic leader.  He was the former owner of KLIS radio station and a lifetime member of Norwood Heights Baptist Church.  He currently was a computer technician for Palestine ISD.

Pallbearers will be Herman Morton, Billy Bennett, Erwin Dabbs, Mark Schrader, Mark Rogers and Rodney Furnish.

The family will receive condolence calls from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home.
