Services for Ricky C. Brooks, 32 of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Norwood Heights Baptist Church with Rev. James K. Elam officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mr. Brooks died from injuries sustained in a traffic accident Saturday night.  He was born December 13, 1953, in Jacksonville, son of Ernest J. and Marion Jo Posey Brooks.  He was a member of Norwood Heights Baptist and a 1972 graduate of Palestine High School and Sam Houston State University.  He had been employed by the Texas Department of Corrections for the past 10 years as a security officer with the Beto I prison unit psychiatric center.

Survivors include his parents; brother, Phillip Mark Brooks of Palestine; grandmother, Mrs. Hester Brooks of Palestine; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Posey of Maydelle; and a nephew.

Pallbearers will be Phil Greenwalt, Robert E. Brooks, Rusty Mack, Don Harrison, Bobby Wilson and Gary Mennerick.

The family will receive condolence calls from 5 – 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
