Service for Tucker Farris, Sr., 63 of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel and the Rev. Ronnie Dabney officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Farris died this morning at his home. He was born March 10, 1925, in Tennessee Colony, a son of James Hanks Farris and Vera Mae Tucker Farris. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. For 35 years he was co-owner of Tucker Farris Body Shop.
He was a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ and a charter member of the Anderson County Riding and Roping Club.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Miller Farris, of Palestine; a daughter, Fran Farris Lusk of Palestine; a son, Tucker “Nip” Farris, Jr. of Palestine; sisters, Essie Lou Owen of Palestine, Clara Phillips of Katy, Maurine Reed of Dallas and Inez Kelly of Houston; and four grandchildren.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home..
Pallbearers will be Rush Herrington, Roland Higginbotham, Walter Holland, Bill Woolverton, Kenneth Denson, Lacy Lovell, Bascom Bentley III and Olen Wilson.
