Carol Coleman passed away on October 14, 2010 at age 78 from a stroke after a life-long struggle with diabetes.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alvin Coleman, children, Jack, Joe, Julia and Jane; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Carol was born to Frank and Velma Temple Carter on September 23, 1932.  She was the granddaughter of long-time Palestine businessman John S. Temple.

She began her studies at St. Mary’s Academy, graduated from Palestine High School in 1950 and continued her education at Nixon Business College until joining the workforce of Missouri Pacific Railroad Company.

Carol was very involved in the community.
