Funeral services for John Hinson, 34, of Rt. 5, Palestine will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Hassell & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Preston Holder, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.  Arrangements being handled by Hassell & Foster Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Fred McMinn, Clinton Garner, Bobby Barrett, Danny Ray Link, Charles Denson and Harold Richardson.

Mr. Hinson was born December 29, 1929 in Anderson County, a son of the late Lee Hinson and Grace Shaver Hinson.  For the past 13 years he had been employed by Morton Foods in Palestine, Huntsville, and El Paso.  He formerly worked for Dr. Pepper & Company here.

Mr. Hinson was a veteran of the Korean War and was affiliated with the Elks and the Lions Clubs.  Member of the Baptiest Church, he died Wednesday at 12:55 pm in a Dallas hospital following a long illness.

Survivors are his wife Mrs. Dorothy Churchman Hinson and four children:  John Lee, John Franklin, Terri Diane, and Joanna Lynn, all of Palestine; a brother David Lee Hinson of Houston and a sister, Mrs. Bernice Walker of Salida, CO.
