Ann Darneal Moseley 1946 Salutatorian

Ann Moseley, 81 passed away July 20, 2010 after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She was sustained by her faith in God, love of family, and Baylor University sports. She never lost her sense of humor. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lois Moser Darneal and Leonard Lawlis Darneal, and her husband, Thomas B. Moseley.
She is survived by her sister, Anita Darneal Gibson, two children; Mark Andrew Moseley, and wife MaryEllen, of Palestine; Elizabeth Moseley Justice and her husband Eric Steele of Birta, Arkansas; five grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Ann Moseley was born on June 6, 1929, in Palestine, Texas and graduated salutatorian of Palestine High School in 1946. She received her B.A., magna cum laude from Baylor University in 1950. She received her Masters degree in Spanish from Stephen F. Austin State University, summa cum laude in 1968.
She married Thomas B. Moseley on June 10, 1956. She taught Texas high school English and Spanish for over 35 years in Nacogdoches, Tyler, Giddings, and over 30 years at Palestine high School, was a lifetime Alumni Member of Baylor University, a member of Palestine Noon Kiwanis and member of the First Christian Church of Palestine, Texas; all who supported her and where she counted many friends.
A eulogy will be given Dr. Tom Rousseau, Friday July 23, 10:00 AM at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Bailey & Foster Thursday July 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be Erroll Coker, Terry Westmoreland, Bob Stephenson, Richard Sylvester, Reid Chambers, and Carson Wages. Palestine Kiwanas members will all be honorary pallbearers.
The family requests that donations should be made to the Thomas B. and Mary Ann Moseley Music scholarship fund, in care of The First Christian Church or one’s favorite charity.
