Graveside services for David E. Liles, 83, of Emerald Bay will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with Dr. Jay Riley and the Rev. Lynn Wilhite officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1926, in Tyler to the late S.I. Liles and Mary Agnes Stripling Liles.

Mr. Liles was a graduate of Palestine High School and University of Houston. He served in the Merchants Marines and U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for Lone Star Gas Company for 34 years, retired as regional manager at Wichita Falls on Oct. 31, 1989. He was a member of Emerald Bay Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Mr. Liles is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ella Liles; son, Bruce Liles and wife Deborah; grandchildren, Jennifer De Luna and husband Bruce, Bobby Mitchell and wife Rachel; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Lucas; and one brother, Ken Liles.
