Services for Harold L. Hudson age 82, of Tennessee Colony will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Tennessee Colony Church with Bro. John Wisener officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Hudson died Friday at the David E. Foster Hospice Unit at Palestine Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hudson was born February 5, 1928 in Anderson County to Henry Lod and Ashley Callaway Hudson. Mr. Hudson graduated from Palestine High School in 1948, and retired in 1993 from the railroad with almost 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Hudson was a lifelong member of the Tennessee Colony Church and was very active in his community. Mr. Hudson helped get the Tennessee Colony water system started and served on the board for many years. He was Sunday school superintendent and was treasurer for almost 30 years. He was president of the Tennessee Colony Cemetery Association, member of the Trinity Valley Electric Coop for 28 years, church board member and a member of the Christian Church. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Virginia Taylor and Nelda Wilbanks.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Hudson, son Mark Hudson and wife ShaRee, daughters Melissa Woodard and husband Paul, and Melinda Axum and husband Curtis and four grandchildren Shayla Hudson, Kyle Woodard, Shawn Mark Hudson and Makenzie Hudson.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Woodard, Shawn Mark Hudson, Jeff Croft, Jody Radford, Jason Helms, Hugh Dublin, Joe Radford, and Roger Dale Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Richey, Carl White and in memory of Donald Wayne Cross.
Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
