William “Bill” Eugene Keeling 1955
Graveside services with Masonic rights for William E. (Bill) Keeling, 73, of Palestine will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Prince officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mr. Keeling died Monday at his residence.
He was born June 13, 1937, in Palestine to Eugene and Bertha Lancaster Keeling.
Mr. Keeling graduated from Palestine High School and attended Texas A&M University and the University of Houston. He was raised in Palestine and returned here after his retirement from IBM in Houston as an electrical and computer engineer. He had a private commercial telephone and electrical business in Palestine for many years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3907 and Masonic Lodge No. 400 in Elkhart.
Mr. Keeling was a very charitable man in Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Barbara Moore Keeling.
Mr. Keeling is survived by his son, Clifford Ray Moore Jr. and wife Catherine of Frankston; daughter, Karen M. Wells and husband John of Lawrenceville, Ga.; cousins, George and Jim Keeling of Dallas and their families; devoted aunt, Paula Jett of Palestine; and grandchildren, C.R. Moore III, Catherine Elizabeth Moore, Janey Wells, Jeffrey Wells and Julia Wells.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Ray Moore III, Jeffrey D. Wells, Bill Watts, Gerald Stubbs, Joe McDuff and Eddie Moore.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
