Services for Robert Bower, Sr., 85 of Bryan, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Herrington / Land of Memory Chapel with Dr. Robert A. Tolson officiating.  Burial will be in the Palestine City Cemetery.

Mr. Bower died Tuesday in an Austin nursing home.  He was born in Palestine on November 15, 1910.  He grew up in Palestine and attended Texas A&M University as a member of the class of 1932.

Mr. Bower and his wife, Maureen, lived in Houston for more than 40 years.  In 1975, he retired from Gulf Oil Corporation with 37 years of service.  They moved to Bryan in 1980.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maureen Walker Bower; sons, Robert Bower, Jr. of Bryan and Ron Bower of Austin; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Aman of Spring; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
