Memorial services for Larry Russell Wilbanks, 64, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating.
Mr. Wilbanks died Sunday in a Waco hospital.He was born Jan. 16, 1946, in Palestine to Willie Russell and Betty Lou Gerkin Wilbanks. Mr. Wilbanks served in the U.S. Army from November 1966 to August 1968 and was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge. He was a retired conductor with Union Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by his children, Larry R. Wilbanks II of Cut and Shoot, Theresa “Cuppy” Wilbanks Robinson of Elkhart, Carrie Wilbanks Cox and husband Kevin of League City and John B. Wilbanks of Palestine; brother, Frank Wilbanks and wife Karen of Rowlett; and six grandchildren, Rebecca Wilbanks, Cole Wilbanks, Cade Allen, Claire Robinson, Jakob Cox and Emily Cox.
