Services for George “Donnie” Lightfoot, 46, of Van will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Herrington Lane of Memory Funeral Home with the Rev. Royce Vaughn officiating. Burial will be at Land of Memory Cemetery. Mr. Lightfoot died in an auto accident late Friday night on Texas 155 near Coffee City. He was born March 11, 1948, in Palestine to J.G. and Zula Frame Lightfoot. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1967 and the Texas State Technical Institute in Waco. Mr. Lightfoot served in the U.S. Army and was a Baptist. He worked as a mechanic and also played in the Rolger Wolfe & Texas Nighlife Band that often played in the East Texas area. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jackie Ward.
He is survived by his son, Justin L Lightfoot of Ben Wheeler; daughters, Lisa Ann Lightfoot of Van and Julie Annette Lightfoot of Ben Wheeler; sisters, Merilyn Turner of Palestine and Nancy Herbrough of Montalba.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Condolences will be received from 7 – 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
