Graveside services for Sophronia “Cy” Starr Cannon, 84, Palestine, are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel of the Air, Land of Memory Cemetery, with Dan Manuel officiating. Arrangements under direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home, Palestine.Mrs. Cannon died Feb. 16, 2008, in a Palestine nursing home.She was born March 13, 1913, in Palestine to the late Asa and Mary Bell Payne Starr. She graduated from Palestine High School and Nixon Business School, and was personnel manager for Pittsburgh Paint and Glass Co. in Corpus Christi from 1936-1975. She moved back to Palestine in 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Eugene Cannon in 1971.

 

Survivors include nieces, Betty Brotherton, Daisy Marie Starr and Dorothy Henderson, all of Palestine; and one nephew.
