Ruby Griffith Gilmore 1944

Ruby Griffith Gilmore, went to her heavenly home August 23, 2009.  She was born in Palestine, Texas on December 5, 1928 and had resided in San Antonio, Texas for the past 33 years.  She was preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney Frank Gilmore; her parents, T.L. and Mary Cook Griffith; brother, Leroy Griffith; sisters, Jenny Griffith, Lottie Mae Johnston, Mattieline Cannon and Vivian Selman.

She is survived by her sister, Fay Holden of Odessa; husband of 61 years, Randol Gilmore of San Antonio; sons, Randol G. Gilmore and wife, Janet of Missouri City, Texas, Russell R. Gilmore and wife, Lana of Houston; daughters, Rhonda R. Gilmore of La Marque, Robin Gilmore Pean of Santa Fe, Texas; nine grandchildren and and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009.  Funeral service will be held at Northeast  Baptist church, 2930 E. Bitters Road, San Antonio at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2009 with Dr. Wilbert Long and Dr. Chad Chaddick officiating.  Burial will be at New City Cemetery in Palestine, Texas at 2 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian McMilan, Michael Kriticos, James Carey, Edward (Butch) Pean III, Ryan Gilmore; and great-grandson, Devin McMilan.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio.
