William Farris, 1925

Funeral services for William Farris, 52, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John E. McLean, officiating. Burial will follow in the Syrian Cemetery. Members of the Palestine Masonic Lodge will have charge at the graveside.
A native of Palestine, Mr. Farris was born October 26, 1906, and resided here his entire life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Palestine Masonic Lodge, Palestine Shrine Club, and was long active in Junior Chamber of Commerce affairs. He also attended Texas Christian University. A prominent merchant he was associated with Farris Dress Shop. He died Monday at 3 p.m. in a local hospital, following a long illness.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Maude Farris of Palestine; a son, Ronnie Farris; two daughters, Misses Mary Katherine and Linda Farris, al of Palestine; mother, Mrs. Mary Farris of Palestine; two brothers, Louis Farris of Palestine and A. Farris, Jr. (Troy) of Dallas.
Pallbearers serving at the church will be Ed Bedre, John R. O’Keefe, Louis Farris, Jr., William George, Jr., Harry Selden, Kenneth Yeast, Gore Hinzie, Andrew Totah and Alex Nemer.
Masonic pallbearers will be David Dial, G.E. Boyd, Philip Gray, Harold Dietz, Jack Luker, Ray Odom, A.B. Jones and P.B. Glenn.
The body will be at Hassell & Foster until carried to the church for services.
