Services for William Ernest “Bill” Swift III, 42, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Palestine City Cemetery.
Mr. Swift died Friday at his home.
A native of Palestine, he was born Aug. 29, 1949, to William Ernest Swift Jr. and Helen Ruth Green Swift. An entrepreneur/author, he wrote “Stick a Fork in Me, I’m Done.”
He is survived by his daughters, Shelley Swift of Lubbock and Emily Swift of Houston; his mother, of Palestine; grandparents, Jack and Pearl Cookson of Palestine; and a sister, Glenda Minshew of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Brian Biggs, Bascom Bentley III, Dick Swift, Ernest Swift, Harold Sumrall and Donnie Rainwater.
Condolence calls will be received after the service at the R.E. Swift residence on U.S. 84 East.
