Aden W. Stokes, 64, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in Athens.

Aden was born on January 26, 1947 in Anderson County, Texas to Earl W. and Dora Davis Stokes. He graduated from Palestine High School and was a Baptist by faith. Aden was an employee of Wal-Mart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Pansy Weir and Pauline Weir.

Aden is survived by a sister, Jauneta Gurganus of Palestine; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Fayrene Stokes of Malakoff.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
