Norman Johnston of Rockale died May 15, 1985 in Rockdale after a sudden illness.  Graveside services were held at St. Josephs Cemetery, Palaestine, Texas.  Phillips & Luckey in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 12, 1936 in Palestine to Norman E. & Mary Wathen Johnston, Sr.  He married Janet Molz January 17, 1973 in Austin.  He formerly lived in Longview and had lived in Rockdale for less than a year.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler.  He was preceded in death by his mother April, 1976.

He is survived by his wife Janet Johnston, Rockdale; sons, Norman T. Johnston, Austin; Timothy N. Johnston, Austin and William L. Johnston, Rockdale; daughter, Theresa Ellen Johnston, Austin; step-son Antonio Barron, Austin; 2 step-daughters, Lisa Robinson, Austin and Shari Barron of Longview; father, Norman E. Johnston, Sr. of Longview and 5 grandchildren.
