A memorial service for Patricia Griffith Crabtree, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Waters officiating. Arrangements are by Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crabtree died Monday at her home.

She was born in Palestine to William Leroy and Gladys Shelton Griffith. She was a graduate of Palestine High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Baylor Universtiy. She was a math teacher at Palestine Middle School.

Mrs. Crabtree was a member of First Baptist Church in Palestine and held leadership positions in the youth and young adult departments. She also was a member of numerous national, state and local professional teaching organizations and sororities. She also was a sponsor of the Junior National Honor Society.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick “Put” Crabtree of Palestine; her mother, of Palestine; sons, Frederick G. Crabtree of Coronado, Calif., Todd P. Crabtree of Kenya, Africa, and Kent W. Crabtree of Stephenville; and a sister, Dianne Mangum of Seguin.

Memorials may be made to the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship Fund, in care of Jeanne Lockett, 1419 N. Sycamore St., Palestine, 75801.
