Services for Marguerite Blount Garner, 84, of College Station, and a longtime resident of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Funeral home with the Revs. Robert Webb and Jack Cox officiating.  Burial will be at New Addition Cemetery.  Mrs. Garner died Wednesday in Caldwell.  She was born in Palestine on February 5, 1909, to W.E. and Flossie Silvey Blount.  She was a licensed vocation nurse at Memorial Hospital for many years.

Mrs. Garner was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Degree of Honor.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Tootsie” Garner, a Missouri Pacific Railroad clerk on March 13, 1981.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Margaret Smith of Caldwell; son, Robert Garner of College Station; sister, Imo Dell Douglas of Palestine; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons David Smith, Jimmy Smith, Alan Smith, Bobby Garner, Mark Garner and Keith Wade.

Condolence calls will be received from 7 – 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
