Private services for Harold F. “Skip” Klein Jr., 61, of Houston and formerly of Palestine, were held today. A rosary and vigil were held Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Klein died Sunday.

He was born March 16, 1939, in San Antonio.

Mr. Klein spent his youth in Palestine and moved to Houston to attend St. Thomas University. He was employed at Baker Energy. He owned a shop called “Skip’s What’s It’s” in Chapel Hill. He was a member of the American Fan Collectors Association and the Flashlight Collectors.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Klein.

Mr. Klein is survived by his wife, Janice Klein; children, Kathryn Grant, Frances Austin, Harold Klein III and Christopher Klein; brother, Chris Klein; and sister, Carol Klein.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Christus St. Joseph Hospice, 1404 St. Joseph Parkway, Houston, Texas 77002.
