Rosary for Barbara Ann Melton, 68, of Palestine will be at 7 p.m. today in Bailey & Foster Chapel. Funeral mass will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Melton died Friday in Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She was born July 17, 1938 in Anderson County to Tony Dressell and Verna Hugghins Dressell.
Mrs. Melton was a Catholic. For more than 10 years she was co-owner of the former local Heck’s Drive-in. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert J. Melton, who died September of this year; and a brother, Paul Dressell.
She is survived by three daughters, Angelia Melton and Toni Melton of Palestine, and Debbie Stewart and husband Tommy of Neches; sister, Joella Hackett of Palestine; brothers, Tony Dressell and Donald Dressell of Palestine; and two grandchildren, Colt Handorf and Cheyenne Handorf.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Francis, Mark Bourassa, Craig Dressell, Robert Dressell, Tony Wayne Dressell and Donald Dressell.
Condolence calls will be held one hour prior to Rosary Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
