Services for Robert Anderson Garner Sr., 68, of College Station, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery.

Mr. Garner died Monday at College Station Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Palestine. He was a retired administrator, teacher and coach for College Station Independent School District after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julianne Garner of College Station; sons, Robert “Bobby” Garner Jr. of Houston and Mark Garner and his fiancé Liz LaBauve of College Station; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David DeSalvo of Tyler; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Margaret and Lawrence Smith of Bryan; eight grandchildren; and numerous nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.

Memorials may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund, College Station Education Foundation or Hospice Brazos Valley.
