David Allen McNeill, 14, freshman student at Palestine High school, died Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in Memorial Hospital after an illness of several days.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today at Bailey Funeral Home with Dr. John McLean officiating. Burial was in New Addition Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Dickey, Bill Keeling, David McClung, III, John Counts, Robert Meyers and Turner E. Campe.

He is survived by his father, H.D. McNeill of Palestine; his mother, Mrs. John Grisbee, Houston; two sisters, Wanda Jean McNeill of Palestine and Marilyn Ann McNeill of Houston; two grandmothers, Mrs. Carl Blaser of Palestine and Mrs. W. D. McNeill of Houston, and a great-grandmother, Mrs. M.A. Crutchfield of Marshall.

David Allen McNeill was born April 6, 1938. His school days began September 1945, and ended at the time of his unexpected death on December 15, 1952.

He will always be remembered for his fine personality and constant smile. Words cannot express the loss we feel for David, but we do not think of him as being dead, but that he has gone to a Land where we will meet someday.
