Graveside services for David Joe Walton, 69, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Palestine City Cemetery with Deacon Alex Kobar officiating. Services are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mr. Walton died Saturday evening at his home in Palestine.

He was born January 17, 1937 in Palestine to Henry and Elva Cook Walton. He had lived in Palestine all of his life.

Mr. Walton served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was the circulation manager at the Palestine Herald-Press for many years and enjoyed ranching.

Mr. Walton was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by several cousins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Neal, Tommie Neal, David Neal and Marcus Neal.
