Charles Collins Carroll, 58, passed away at his home at Tennessee Colony on Friday, December 30, 2011.
He was born on April 4, 1953 to Charles L. and Louise Collins Carroll and grew up on the Carroll homeplace at Tennessee Colony.
Mr. Collins graduated from Palestine High School in 1971 and attended Tyler Junior college where he was a member of Sigma Epsilon fraternity. He had worked in the carpenter industry, oil and gas industry and cattle ranching.
Preceding him in death were his father, Charles L. Carroll in 1971; his mother, Louise Carroll Massey in 2004; and his older brother, Gary Lynn Carroll in 1984.
He is survived by his sister, Janet Massey and husband Hubert of Plano; niece Tammy Saunders and husband Scott of Easton, MD; nephew, Edward Massey and wife Kim of Wylie; sister-in-law Gayle Carroll of Beaufort, SC.; stepsisters, Marge Brashear and husband Bill of Carrollton, Patsy Johnson of Palestine, and Mary Jane Jean and husband Clarence of Brenham; stepbrother Dr. George Massey of Groesbeck; and many other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
A visitation was held Monday afternoon, January 2, for family and friends at the Tennessee Colony Community Center.
He will be interred at the Tennessee Colony Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Joan Woolverton and all who helped to make the visitation event a success on such short notice.

The family would also like to thank all those who have provided support, help and friendship to Collins since his 2007 auto accident including special recognition to Chip Satterwhite, Curtis Aaron and Brett Carroll.
