Palestine High School Alumni Association

Services for Joy Harris, 58, of Palestine, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Webb officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Park.

Mrs. Harris died Monday, October 10, 1994, at a Palestine hospital.

She was born in Palestine on May 12, 1936, to Alvie and Lerlene Spears Gibson.

She was a teacher and counselor in the Palestine school district, working at Southside and Rusk primary schools.

Mrs. Harris had been a teacher and counselor for 33 years in the Aldine, Granbury, and Palestine school districts. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Harris of Palestine; son, Jerry Harris Jr. of Fort Worth; and sisters, Lerla Dupree of Palestine, Bobbie Lou Bridges of Glen Rose, and Martha Lee of Kilgore.

Pallbearers will be Jack Weldon Bridges III, Jim Bob Bridges, Larry Roberts, Wade Dupree, Boyd Dupree, and Clay Dupree.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
