Services for Dr. Rush Quinn Hunter Jr., 63, of Laguna Beach, Calif. and formerly of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. John Richmond officiating.
Dr. Hunter died February 25, 1999, in Laguna Beach. He was born September 13, 1935, in Palestine, to Rush Quinn Hunter Sr. and Aline West Hunter.
Dr. Hunter studied pre-med at the University of Texas at Austin, Sam Houston State University and the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston. He served his internship and residency in Fort Worth and Sacramento, Calif. and practiced medicine in Laguna Beach.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, attached to the Marines as a medical officer. After his retirement from medicine, Dr. Hunter owned and operated a flower farm. He was Episcopalian.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Marley (Martha) Styner of Palestine; and a niece.
