Jeannette was born September 6, 1933, the daughter of Frederick Cook Gates and Florence Scaff Gates, in Huntington, Texas.
She married Jack Redwine on June 9, 1951, in Palestine. They lived in Fort Worth, Memphis, Tenn., Fostoria, Ohio, and since 1974 in Burleson. They later lived in Chandler, Ariz., and retired there in 1996, and returned to Burleson.
While she never worked in public, she was active in the Cub Scouts, PTA and Texas Girls Choir. “Mee-Maw” attended all youth and sport activites of her grandsons until her health stopped her activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Florence Gates; brother, Frederick Cook Gates Jr.; and grandson, Sonny Jack Burke.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack Redwine; son, Eric Redwine and wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Kelly Herndon and friend, Dora York; brother, Frederick Charles Gates and wife, Arlene; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Skyvue Funeral Home, Mansfield, Texas.
