Ray Dunn, 71, a long term resident of Houston, Texas died on January 11, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Tyler, Texas on January 23, 1935 to Dr. Fred Dunn and Winiford Bell Hinsley Dunn. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wonderful wife, Sudy Dunn; and sister, Jeanne Joyce of Palestine, Texas.

He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Steele and husband, Don Steele of Pacific Palisades, Calif. and Diane White and her husband, Peter White of Houston, Texas; his son, the Rev David Dunn and his wife, Misty Dunn of Missouri City, Texas.; brother-in-laws, Jerry Joyce of Palestine, Texas and Bill Reed and wife D’Alva of Kilgore, Texas. He was blessed with one grandson, Sean Steele of Pacific Palisades, Calif. He also is survived by nieces, Sandra Joyce Harris of Austin, Texas and Karen Joyce Sheffer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nephew, Bill Reed of Fort Worth, Texas and Bobby Reed of Austin, Texas.

Ray was a graduate of Palestine High School then went onto study at North Texas University. After college he enlisted in the United States Army and later married Sudy Reed. They resided in Houston, Texas where Ray attended the University of Houston Law School. He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and then went onto practice law. He was an avid reader and enjoyed attending Grace Bible Church of Houston, Texas during the later years of his life.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Grace Bible Church in Houston, Texas, officiated by Ray’s son, Pastor David Dunn.
