Services for Daniel R. “Dan” Link, 60, of Palestine, a member of a pioneer Anderson County family, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Wesley Community Church with the Rev. Larry York officiating. Burial will be at the Link Family Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Link died Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Palestine on October 25, 1934, to Otha C. and Lydia Fischer Link. He was a supervisor for Vernon Calhoun Packing Co., and a rancher.
Mr. Link was reared on a farm in the Trinity River bottom at Tennessee Colony. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1953 and attended Sam Houston State University.
He was a member of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Association and a Methodist.
Mr. Link is survived by his wife, Virginia “Gina” Link of Palestine; sons, Daniel Wayne Link of Lake Jackson and Ricky Ray Link of Plano; sisters, Mary Nell Kirby of Jacksonville and Sandra Ham of Palestine; brother, Gilbert Wayne Link of Center; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mauris Engledow, Carroll Radford, Joe Swanson, Don Blake, Billy Hogan, Kevin Owens, Leo Mizell and Vernon Fritze.
Condolence calls will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials made be made to the American Heart Association or Wesley Community Church.
