Dura Faye Hatfield Feldmann 1953
06 / 09 / 1933 – 03 / 01 / 2007
(Dura) Faye (Hatfield) Feldmann passed away on March 1, 2007 at Tucson’s Kindred Hospital after weeks of battling interstitial lung disease. Faye was a loving and endearing person who radiated warmth and friendship to all who came in contact with her.
Faye was born June 9, 1933 in Paris, Texas to Ruth Barrett and Verdell Mathews. Much of her early life was lived in East Texas. She graduated from high school in Palestine, Texas where she met and married George Hatfield. She then earned a Radiologic Technologist license while raising two boys, Carey and Ron. They eventually moved to Arizona where Faye was the chief X-ray Technician at Sierra Vista Community Hospital starting in 1967.
In 1975 she moved out to New Jersey after marrying Peter Feldmann. Faye and Pete traveled throughout the United States and Canada in conjunction with Pete’s job in the U.S. Army Civil Service. Faye worked as a radiologic technologist in Monmouth Medical Center and numerous doctor’s offices at the Jersey shore area. In 1986, they moved back to Arizona where Faye again worked as an X-ray tech for Sierra Vista Diagnostics until she retired in 1994.
She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and even flew to Estonia in 2003. At home she kept busy with arts and crafts and was devoted to doing graphic designs on the Internet for the past few years.
Faye was preceded in death by her first husband, George Hatfield, and her father, Verdell Mathews.
She is survived by her husband Peter Feldmann, her mother Ruth Lowe, both of Sierra Vista, two sons Carey Hatfield and wife Candy in Sierra Vista, and Ron Hatfield and wife Leigh Ann of Palestine, Texas. Also surviving are half-brothers Archie Dingman of Fort Worth, Texas and Matt Matthews of Safford, Ariz., half-sister June Parr of Winfield, Texas, and step-daughter Barbara Hatfield Maynard of Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to this, there are also three grandchildren and many cousins scattered throughout the southwestern U.S.
She will be greatly missed by her family, and many, many friends in Arizona, Texas, New Jersey, and her “Internet Family” connections throughout the world. Memorial services are planned for a later date.
