Ellen was born in Port Arthur in 1934, and died in Port Arthur on February 9, 1960. She was married to Charles Petrovich who graduated from Palestine High School in 1948. They had three children and the oldest was only three when Ellen died. The children are Charles Steve Petrovich, Jr. of Palestine, Laura Lee Placette of Nederland and David Petrovich of Port Arthur. Ellen’s sister, June, lives in Charlotte, N.C.

Ellen attended PHS during her Junior and Senior years and was elected Arc Light Sweetheart and served as a Band Flag Bearer during her senior year.
