Services for Gene Kimbrough, 62, Palestine, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ken Andress officiating. Burial will be in Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Kimbrough died Saturday morning in a Palestine hospital. He was born November 5, 1933, in Blackfoot community to the late James Leroy and Mary Gilbert Kimbrough. He was a mud engineer employed by Halliburton. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kent Kimbrough in 1976 and Keith Kimbrough in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Elva Kimbrough, Palestine; son, Jerry Kimbrough, Denton; and sister, Jan Dupre, Houma, La.
Pallbearers include James Ray, C.L. Douthit, Ralph Smith, Brett Dupre, Gary Calcote and O’Dell Taylor.
Bobby Nolan and James Kimbrough will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
If desired, memorials may be made to Keith Kimbrough Scholarship Fund at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.
