Marion Lowe Rusk, 72, of Ashton Hills Apts., Macon, Ga. died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Coliseum Park Hospital from complications of lung cancer.

Born November 30, 1934 in Palestine, Mrs. Rusk was the daughter of the late George Washington Lowe and Leola Stone Lowe.

She graduated from Henderson County Junior College. Mrs. Rusk married and moved to Georgia in 1957 where she raised her family. She was a member of Thomaston Road Church of Christ.

A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Rusk was vivacious and personable and had many close friends. She loved arts and crafts and was especially talented as a painter and as a seamstress. She was interested in history and loved to travel. She loved her country and her home state of Texas.

Mrs. Rusk was preceded in death by her sister, Clara Ruth Lowe Hanks of Waco, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Shanon and Steve Dooley of Macon and son Timothy Rusk of Decatur; brothers, George H. (wife, Carol) Lowe of Tyler, Texas and Jerry M. (wife, Imelda) Lowe of Mission, Texas; brother-in-law, Donald H. Hanks of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Lauren Dooley of Macon and Steven Kyle Dooley of Charleston, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13 at the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary in Macon, Ga. followed by burial at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray, Ga. The Rev. Rob Robinson will officiate.

As a tribute to her memory, the family asks that family and friends make loved ones aware of the dangers of exposure to second hand smoke.
