Funeral services for Raymond Carroll McNeill, 70, of Palestine will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evangelistic Temple with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Starr Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. McNeill died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler surrounded by his family.

He was born April 16, 1934 in Palestine to John A. and Rosa Nell Evans McNeill

Mr. McNeill graduated from Palestine High School in 1952, where he was very active in sports. He served in the Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1961-1962.

Mr. McNeill worked for TexasU Electric for 28 years. After retiring from TexasU Electric in 1992, he worked for ETA Global from 1992 to 2001. He also was an active member of Evangelistic Temple where he served as an Elder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vallie Humphrey; brother, Floyd McNeill, and twin brother, Harold McNeill.

Mr. McNeill is survived by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Jenell Shaver McNeill; daughters, Vicki Fort and husband Mike and Robin Adams and husband Johnie; grandchildren, Sarah Fort, Valerie Fort, Bryan Adams, and Matthew Adams, all of Palestine; brother, Don McNeill of Longview; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Bill Smith, Allen Calcote, Hal Smith, Bill Race, Floyd Schmitz, Joel McNeill, Tom White and Ted Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of Evangelistic Temple and Forrest Frix.
