Graveside services for Dorothy Jean Ball, 61, Tyler, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pine Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Paschall officiating under the direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ball died December 24, 1996 in a Tyler hospice facility.

She was born March 8, 1935, in Palestine to the late Hobson S. and Mary Lou Irons Rutledge, and lived in Palestine until 1964 when she moved to Tyler. She was a home health aide in the medical field, and worked for many doctors and health facilities. She was a member of the Pine Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie H. Rutledge and Thomas H. Rutledge.

Survivors include her husband, John M. Ball, Tyler, stepdaughter, Charvelle Jones, Tyler and two step-grandchildren.
