Services for Carolyn “Tootsie” Richardson age 71 of Bois D’ Arc Community will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Bois D’ Arc Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Drinkard officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Miss Richardson died Monday at Green Oaks Nursing Home in Athens. She was born January 17, 1940 in Anderson County to Hugh and Maybelle Pinkerton Richardson. She attended Montalba Public School and graduated from Palestine High School in 1958. She received her Associate degree from Henderson County Jr. College and her Master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin University. She taught school for 32 years. Miss Richardson was a member of the Bois D’ Arc Baptist Church where she was actively involved with the church, taught Sunday school and worked in the church nursery. Miss Richardson was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Hugh Richardson, Jr., a brother-in-law Jessie Melvin Lambright, and two nephews, Larry Richardson and Jim Lambright.

She is survived by her sister Dolores Lambright, and brother Harold Richardson and wife Inez all of Palestine, nieces, Carol and Jerry Pugh, Kim and Paul Benson, and Marilyn and Matt Holmes, great nieces and nephews, Jerry Lynn and Mandy Pugh, Jennifer and Alan Rummel, Mason Holmes, Christy Lambright, Rachel Benson, Cody Benson, Clayton Richardson and Adam and Brittany Richardson, great great nieces and nephews, Mallary Rummel, Madelyn Rummel and Dylan Richardson, she is also survived by her special friends, Miah, Ethan and Coran, Jean Williams, Mrs. Marie Johnson and the Marvin Sanders family.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Pugh, Jerry Lynn Pugh, Alan Rummel, Paul Benson, Adam Richardson and Mason Holmes. Honorary pallbearers will be Mallary Rummel, Madelyn Rummel, Rachel Benson and Cody Benson.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the care and help to the employees of Green Oaks Nursing Home and to Lighted Pathway Hospice for the care given to Miss Richardson during her stay at the nursing home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the parsonage fund of Bois D’ Arc Baptist Church.

Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
