Memorial services for John Cole McDonald, 33, of Palestine will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Dan Bubach officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Mr. McDonald very unexpectedly passed away Tuesday in a Tyler hospital.

He was born September 8, 1975 in Lubbock to John Ballard and Linda Cole McDonald.

Mr. McDonald graduated from Palestine High School in 1994, and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin. He was employed with Ted Walters & Assoc. as a Petroleum Landman. He was a member and deacon of First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jerry B. Cole, John B. McDonald and Dorothy C. McDonald.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Jenny Todd McDonald of Palestine; parents, John and Linda McDonald of Palestine; grandmother, Barbara Cole of Palestine; daughter Kelly McDonald of Palestine; son, Jeff McDonald of Palestine; sister, Sarah McDonald Kniffen of Longview; brother, Matthew McDonald of Conroe; uncles, Raleigh McDonald and Jerry Cole; aunt Daryl McDonald Sorrells; and numerous cousins and family members.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew McDonald, Justin Kniffen, Jerry Nowlin, Charles Gurganus, William Bentley, Matthew Bentley, Eric Messersmith, Matt Gullett, Ronnie Elliott, Ted Walters and Jason Sorrells.

Condolence calls will be received at the conclusion of the service at the church.
