Services for Cory Swartz, 17, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Holcombe officiating.  Burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Belton, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Swartz died Tuesday at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.  He was born July 4, 1986 in Temple to Steven Albert and Kathy Ann Jones Swartz.

He was a senior at Palestine High School.  He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, PHS soccer team, FFA member, former officer of Killeen FFA, member of the Junior Meat Goat Association, and the Texas Club Meat Goat circuit.  He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, R.E. Simpson.

He is survived by his parents, Kathy and Steve Swartz of Palestine; brother, Chad Drew of Palestine; grandparents, Beverly and Jimmy Gage of Belton, Myong and Billy Jones, and Carmen Swartz, all of Killeen; a great-grandmother, Lucille Simpson of Belton; aunts and uncles, Vicky and Toby Metcalf of Moffat, Danielle and Stanley Swartz of Copperas Cove, Missy Swartz of Killeen, Ricky Jones of Belton, John Swartz of Kerrville, and Diane Swartz of Killeen; cousins, Hailey & Bailey Metcalf, Shawn and Stanley Swartz and Taylor Mixon.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Swartz, Samuel Woodard, Shelby Colvert, Wade Fisher, Vincent Nuche, Michael Moore, Cody Bennett and Taylor Mixon.

Honoarary pallbears will be members of FFA Chapters of  Texas, Members of the Junior Meat Goat Association, and members of Texas Club Meat Goat circuit.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 – 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
