Boyd Eugene Carter, Jr., age 22, of Palestine, Texas died July 4, 1955 in an automobile accident near Teague, Texas. Burial was in Land of Memory cemetery, Palestine. Archie Waldrum, minister of the Church of Christ, officiated the service.

He was born June 2, 1933 in Harris County to Boyd Carter, Sr. and Verda Lee Witherspoon Carter, Tucker Highway, Palestine. A graduate of Palestine High School in 1952, Carter had been enrolled at the University of Texas for the past three years as a pre-med student.

Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Michael Carter of Palestine; and grandmother, Mrs. Beulah (or Eula) Carter of Lake Dallas, Texas.

Pallbearers were Drexel Stokes, Wayne Kilgore, Wayne Witherspoon, W.G. Rainbolt, Jr., Cameron Booth, Speegle Berry, Marshall Dougherty, and Meyer Witt.
