Mary Oleta (Cook) Wilkerson, age 85, of Palestine, Texas died May 15, 1998 at Memorial Mother Frances Hospital. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery. She was born May 3, 1913, in Troup, Texas to the late Ira Greenlee Cook Sr. and Jessie Lee Ola Thompson.

Mrs. Wilkerson graduated from Palestine High School in 1932. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. She worked and helped with restoration of the Museum for East Texas Culture. She was preceded in death by brother Ira Greenlee Cook Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Herbert Lindsey Wilkerson; daughters, Mary Lynda Sansom, and Martha Gail Ruggles; sisters, Mildred Florene Cook, and Nelda Lee Mack; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
