A rosary for Paul Akerman, 52, of Palestine will be at 7 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel with services at 3 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mr. Akerman died Tuesday at East Texas Medical Center in Crockett.
He was born October 19, 1953 in Kingsville to Charley and Mary Hendricks Akerman.
Mr. Akerman was a route salesman for Mrs. Baird’s Bread Company for 31 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jimmy Hendricks.
Mr. Akerman is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vicky Lynn Akerman of Palestine; a daughter, Summer Renee Gonzales and husband Raymond of Atlanta, Texas; son, Nicholas Akerman and wife Amanda of Palestine; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerald and Ruth Lambright of Carroll Springs; sisters, Mary Bedre of Palestine, Dorothy Asher of Loveland, Colo. and Pauline Conley of Longview; brother, Anthony Akerman of Houston; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Bedre, Bryan Bedre, Jason Akerman, Justin Rhodes, Royce Melton and Raymond Gonzales.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. today before the rosary at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
